Ragusa, former school among the flowering fields of the Frigintini countryside

A mygola kitten and climb over the wall, as if to say “follow me”. There is a smell of jasmine. Let’s take a few steps and, turning the corner of the country road, opens the courtyard where once the children used to play football during recreation.

Today, however, it is a farm. The rectangular square is surrounded by various buildings: there is a storage room, a house and a barn. These rooms embrace the central open space as the agora of the ancient Greek. It can be a garden, a parking, a vegetable garden, a volleyball field or a balance between these things. A purple bougainvillea to enjoy the purple shadow would really suit us! Just as the external stone table, which overlooks the veranda on the square.

Going down this side of the house, there is also an external fountain, perfect for watering the plants, for washing tools or filling the bowl with our friend feline, who accompanies us during the visit between a small stove and another. Even today the sun shines and it is hot, so we decide to enter. The house is fresh and airy. It is evident that it requires modernization, but it is configured as habitable.

Everything is structured around the outdoor space, so all the main rooms have direct access to the courtyard. We therefore have a living room, a very large double bedroom and a single bedroom, which at present is a solution for children and guests. Everything is internally connected by a long corridor. To be added there are also the rooms, which require more serious intervention, as soon as you want to create rooms or additional areas.

At present we have a large storage room, which can be a garage or renovated according to your creativity, a barn and a storage. The opportunities are many, it can be the ideal place for a local farm, a second home or an investment that, with some imagination, could bear fruit to a particular reality, with a flowery and tree-lined garden, a swimming pool, giving more development to the veranda and rearrange the interior spaces, playing on the contrast between tradition and innovation.

Our cat friend interrupts our flow of thought with a myagolio: it is time to go to lunch, but with the smell of jasmine on top and the head that still travels, between dreams.
