Ostuni, our farm the dream of a lifetime

Today we are going to visit a beautiful estate of about 3 hectares in the countryside of Ostuni, between the white city and the seaside cove of Gorgognolo.

An area bordered by ancient dry-stone walls, with over 70 centuries-old olive trees, with a wonderful story to tell, and another 300 planted more recently. But not only olive trees, we are greeted by a riot of plants typical of this wonderful area, prickly pears, mulberries, apricots, plums, figs and almonds that offer indescribable scents and colours.

How many of us have dreamed of retiring to the countryside to devote ourselves to tending the land and why not to an agritourism activity that allows us to live in serenity, following the rhythms of nature.

We are thinking of the development of new buildings partly dedicated to proven housing or accommodation and partly to the processing of the products of our land with the possibility of organising gastronomic and recreational events in the famous Val d’itria, an area that the whole world envies us.

Imagination and spirit of initiative can give us various ideas for the enhancement of our farm, our olive oil will certainly go down a storm while our jams and marmalades will be enjoyed at breakfast by our customers and our officinal plants (thyme, butcher’s broom, oregano, sage, lavender), used either as ornaments or for the preparation of care and beauty products such as creams and soaps.

But what is that little building? I forgot, the property has a functioning private well. Water, an element of life for our company, will never be a problem and how about the blue of a swimming pool wouldn’t look bad surrounded by the beautiful green of the plants.
