Located about 25 km northeast of Trento, Segonzano is a collection of picturesque hamlets at an altitude ranging from 490 to about 970 meters.
These charming villages are nestled on the broad slopes of Dosso di Segonzano and Ceramont, surrounded by dense forests that mark the boundary between two beautiful Trentino locations: the Valle di Cembra and the Altopiano di Piné.
The area retains the traditions and activities of the past, including vine cultivation, woodworking, artistic craftsmanship, and the processing of porphyry stone.
What attracts tourists from all over the world are the earth pyramids of Segonzano. Elegant columns, up to 20 meters tall, some crowned by large protective stones.
But don’t expect the usual tourist spot with city-like traffic. Here, nature still takes precedence over humans, and it is nature that slowly dictates the passage of time.
During walks, you’ll encounter not only tourists, predominantly from Germany, but also many locals. This is not one of those mid-mountain villages abandoned over time; here, those who cherish direct contact with nature, tranquility, and a pleasant climate will find their ideal spot.
Today, we’ll be visiting an apartment located on the first floor of a house at the entrance of the Quaras area, about 4 km from the village of Segonzano and its amenities.
Recently renovated, the apartment is accessed via an exterior balcony offering a stunning view of the valley. It consists of a spacious living area, three large bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a storage room, all spread across 160 square meters. The property also includes a large cellar, a plot of land perfect for creating a personal garden, and several shared spaces, including a boiler/laundry room, attic, garden, and communal courtyard with parking.
The rustic exterior, with exposed stone here and there, contrasts with the apartment’s interior, where everything is flawless—from the wooden window frames to the floors, doors, and modern installations, all part of a recent complete renovation.
This property is perfect not only as a permanent residence or vacation home but also as a small B&B, ideal for hosting tourists seeking peace and quiet, even in the off-season. However, it’s hard to describe—you’ll only truly appreciate the beauty of the place with a careful visit, and if you’re quick, you might even find a few good mushrooms.
